When you choose to travel, whether it is for business or pleasure, it is important to plan your trip well before hand. Here are some tips to help you.

Be sure to book your flight with the name exactly as it appears on your photo ID. You may run into problems if you book your ticket under the name Becky when your name appears on your ID as Rebecca. Some airline and airport employees may give you a hard time about it.

If you will be driving when you travel to another country, take the time to contact your insurance carrier. They can give you any needed documentation that pertains to your insurance coverage, any additional insurance you may need and much needed advice or information about regulations for driving at your destination.

National Parks are usually open all year, but it is best to check with the park you are wanting to visit to confirm that it will be open when you are planning on going. During the summer and winter the parks are generally more popular. If you want to avoid crowds, go in spring or fall.

Want to take a trip with some friends, but nobody has a car big enough for everyone to fit in? Traveling with children and want to minimize the food and bathroom breaks? Try renting an RV; and then you can pack everyone in, even the family dog. Look online for rental companies in your area.

Don’t rule out cruise travel entirely just because you are prone to motion sickness. Cruise ships especially, are really big hotels on the water and little to no movement is felt while aboard except in the roughest seas. Book an interior cabin as close to the center of the boat as possible for the smoothest ride possible.

Once you decide to travel, how good you plan the trip will help you feel comfortable and be comfortable at your destination. Not only will you feel less anxiety before the trip, but you can rest assured that once you arrive where you’re going you will have a good understanding of what’s going on there.
